Montgomery County Office of Procurement to Host Annual Procurement Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Silver Spring – Mocofeed

Posted on October 21, 2025

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 21, 2025

The Montgomery County Office of Procurement will host its annual Procurement Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Silver Spring Civic Building, located at 1 Veterans Place in Silver Spring.

This year’s event will feature a variety of informative sessions, including:

  • Local and Veteran-Owned Business Certifications – A new workshop highlighting eligibility requirements and the benefits of certification.
  • Minority, Female, and Disabled-Owned Business (MFD) Certifying Agencies Panel Discussion – Representatives from certifying agencies will share insights into the certification process and answer questions.

The event will also include a procurement opportunities panel discussion, where participants will learn about future contracting opportunities across the region.

The event is free, but registration is encouraged. To register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/procurement-fair-tickets-1708053697589?aff=chambers. Walk-in registration will also be available on the day of the event.

The Procurement Fair provides an opportunity for vendors to network and build professional relationships. Presenters from local procurement offices—including Montgomery County Public Schools, WSSC Water, and the City of Rockville—will share best practices and highlight upcoming contracting opportunities.

There will also be a workshop where vendors can register on-site for the Montgomery County Vendor Registration System.

“Events like the Procurement Fair help open doors for small, minority, veteran, and women-owned businesses to access opportunities that strengthen our communities and create jobs,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “I’ve been very pleased with the success of our Office of Procurement’s efforts to increase the amount of money we’re spending locally. Those investments matter now more than ever. Many of our local businesses are feeling the strain from federal funding cuts. We want them to be aware of the opportunities that exist with our County government. I encourage all of our local businesses to consider attending this fair.”

“Our annual Procurement Fair is a great way for vendors to learn about the procurement process and also have networking opportunities,” said Director and Chief Procurement Officer Ash Shetty. “We have exciting new sessions focusing on our Local Small Business and Veteran-Owned Business programs, and a hands-on vendor registration workshop for the participants.”
