Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Council President Natali Fani-González, and Councilmember Kate Stewart will be joined by Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Director Chris Conklin and other community leaders for a ceremony to mark the completion of Phase I of the MCDOT McComas Avenue Greenway project in Wheaton.
This project delivers key infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety along McComas Avenue near the Wheaton Mall. The improvements include sidewalks, traffic-calming measures, bike lanes, and ADA-compliant upgrades near Stephen Knolls School in the Kensington area. Improvements span from St. Paul Street to Georgia Avenue and include enhancements along Douglas Avenue and Windham Lane.
