Montgomery County Government Will Be Open Wednesday, Feb. 12 with Optional Liberal Leave for Non-Essential Employees

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 12, 2025

Montgomery County Government will be open Wednesday, Feb. 12, with optional liberal leave for non-essential County employees.

Residents are encouraged to call government facilities before visiting to ensure there has not been unforeseen schedule changes.

Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s Ride On buses are operating on S schedule. Riders should check the Ride On website for updates.

Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Because of the MCPS closures, Recreation programs are affected:

  • All scheduled programs, classes and activities are canceled.
  • Aquatic, Recreation and Senior Centers open at 9 a.m.
  • All facilities are open for drop-in activities only
  • Senior transportation and senior nutrition programs are canceled.

County-provided trash and recycling collections are canceled on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Collections will resume on a sliding schedule, with the last collection taking place on Saturday, Feb. 15. Additional weather-related information:
