Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s Weekly Media Briefing Will Focus on ‘Triple A’ Bond Ratings at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will hold his weekly virtual media briefing at 11 a.m. instead of the regular time of 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

This week, the County Executive will discuss the County’s Triple A (AAA) bond ratings retention from all three major Wall Street bond rating agencies. The AAA ratings allow the County to maintain its status as a top-rated issuer of municipal securities. Only 50 or so counties out of more than 3,000 nationwide earn such high marks for fiscal prudence.

Additional topics of discussion will include:

  • Hispanic Heritage Month
  • County’s Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget “Community Conversations”
  • Update on approval process for newest COVID-19 vaccine

The County Executive will be joined by:

  • Evan Glass, Montgomery County Council president
  • Kate Stewart, Montgomery County Councilmember and chair of the Council’s Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee
  • Jessy Mejía, Montgomery County’s Office of Community Partnerships’ manager for the Latino community

The weekly media briefing offers reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and important issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Members of the media who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
