Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s Weekly Media Briefing for TODAY, Wednesday, Oct. 18, Has Been Postponed

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 18, 2023

Early this morning a Montgomery County Police Department Officer was badly hurt when they were hit by a moving car attempting to stop a suspected drunk driver on I-270. The officer is in the hospital and is in critical condition.

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is postponing his weekly media briefing scheduled for 12:30 p.m. TODAY so that attention is focused on MCPD and its officers. The County Executive intends to be with Police Chief Marcus Jones when he updates the media and community on the situation at 1:15 p.m.

The weekly media briefing will be rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m.
