Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s Weekly Media Briefing at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, Welcomes New Fire Chief

Reporters are encouraged to participate in this week’s virtual media briefing on Wednesday, July 17, at 12:30 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to ask Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions.
The County Executive will speak with the County’s new fire chief, Corey Smedley, after being sworn in this week as the first Black man to lead the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. He will also talk about the importance of planning early for back-to-school vaccinations. The County Executive will also discuss two important community events that will enhance public safety in Bethesda and help us all prepare for the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony happening next week.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should contact Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’ [email protected] by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
