Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe, County staff, and community nonprofit partners will memorialize the lives of individuals who died while experiencing homelessness at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, in Rockville.

The Community Homeless Memorial Service, hosted by the Interagency Commission on Homelessness, will be held at Veterans Memorial Plaza, adjacent to the Isiah Leggett Executive Office Building (LEOB), located at 101 Monroe St.

The service will commemorate the lives of 35 individuals who died in 2024 and 2025 and reaffirm the County’s commitment to ensuring every resident has access to safe and stable housing.

According to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ annual 2026 Point-in-Time count, 1,120 individuals were experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County on the night of Feb. 4, when the annual count was conducted.
