Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Evan Glass Kick Off Pride Month with Seventh Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on June 3

Tuesday, June 3

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Evan Glass, along with members of the County Council and community leaders, will host the County’s seventh annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Rockville. The plaza is located adjacent to the Leggett Executive Office Building (LEOB) at 101 Monroe Street. The community is invited to attend.

Yael Astor, an inclusion specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools’ Office of Curriculum & Instructional Programs, and Phillip Alexander Downie, executive director for the MoCo Pride Center, will serve as featured speakers for the event.

Speakers, Councilmembers and LGBTQ+ community leaders will arrive at approximately 8:50 a.m. aboard the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s #RideWithPride Ride On bus . The bus, wrapped in the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag design, will arrive at the roundabout in front of the LEOB.

When: Tuesday, June 3 at 9 a.m.

Where: Outside of the Leggett Executive Office Building on Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville. The plaza is on the Government Complex Center terrace between the Montgomery County Circuit Court annex and the LEOB. Parking information can be found here . In case of rain, the event will be held in the LEOB Auditorium.
