For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 14, 2026

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that registration is open for the 13th annual Montgomery County Energy Summit. The 2026 summit will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, April 28-29, at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at Veterans Plaza. Early-bird registration rates are available through Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The Silver Spring Civic Building is located at 1 Veterans Place in Silver Spring.

The summit’s theme, “Elevating Building Performance,” highlights tools, strategies, and real-world guidance to boost building efficiency and navigate building energy performance standards.

“Every day, Montgomery County government and the private sector work together to meet building performance standards to cut energy use and reduce emissions,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “The Energy Summit brings together experts, tools, and real solutions to help building owners reach their energy goals. I encourage businesses and professionals across the County to join us in building a cleaner, more resilient future.”

  • On-site support to help organizations understand compliance needs.
  • Opportunities to connect with regional leaders and peers.
  • Practical guidance for meeting performance standards.

“The Energy Summit is one of our most important opportunities to support the commercial building community,” said DEP Director Jennifer Macedonia. “Every year, we focus on giving attendees clear guidance, hands-on learning, and access to experts who understand the challenges of improving building energy performance. This year’s theme reflects our commitment to helping organizations move from planning to action in a way that is achievable, cost-effective, and grounded in real-world experience.”
