Montgomery County Council to Hold Public Hearings on May 13 and June 10, 2025

The County Council will hold public hearings to receive testimony on new items introduced to the Council as follows:
May 13, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.
Deadline to sign up to speak is May 12 at 2 p.m.
The Montgomery County Council is considering a resolution to increase the Montgomery County income tax from 3.2 percent up to 3.3 percent of an individual’s Maryland taxable income for the taxable year beginning after December 31, 2024, under the Maryland Code Annotated, Tax-General Article, Section 10-106, as amended by the State of Maryland Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2025.

Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-05, Development Standards – Optional Method Public Benefits , would create new Optional Method Public Benefits standards, grandfather the existing Optional Method Public Benefits standards, and generally amend the public benefits system.

To testify in-person or remotely during a live public hearing at the Council Office Building, residents need to preregister on the Council’s web page . Residents may also choose to provide pre-recorded testimony in written, audio or video formats or submit testimony by mail.
