Montgomery County Council to Hold Public Hearings on April 9 and 22, 2025

The Council will conduct public hearings on Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Operating Budgets and FY26-31 Public Services Program and Fiscal Policy for the Montgomery County Government, Montgomery College, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, WSSCWater and Montgomery County Public Schools on April 7 and April 8, 2025, at 1:30 and 7 p.m.
The County Council will also hold public hearings to receive testimony on items introduced to the Council as follows:
April 9, 2025 at 2:30 p.m.
Deadline to sign up to speak is April 7 at 12 p.m.
- Resolution to approve FY26 Transportation Fees, Charges and Fares
- Resolution to approve FY26 Solid Waste Service Charges
- Resolution to approve FY26 Water Quality Protection Charge
- Resolution to approve the County 9-1-1 Fee
- Resolution to approve an Amendment to the FY25-30 Capital Improvements Program and Supplemental Appropriation #25-60 to the FY25 Capital Budget, Montgomery County Government, Department of General Services, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Bus Depot and Maintenance Relocation (No. P360903), $10,550,000 (Source of Funds: Recordation Tax Premium: (MCG))
- Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Operating Budget – Public hearings will be held on the listed dates above on the proposed FY26 Operating Budget and FY26-31 Public Services Program and Fiscal Policy for the following: Montgomery County Government, Montgomery College, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, WSSCWater and Montgomery County Public Schools. Reference copies of the recommended FY26 County Government Operating Budget are available on the Office of Management and Budget’s website or by calling 240-777-2800. Other agency budgets are available from the individual agencies and their websites. The Council encourages comments on both spending and revenue issues.

- Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #25-65 to the FY25 Operating Budget, Montgomery County Government, Department of Health and Human Services, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Emergency Rental Assistance Grant, $1,486,353 (Source of Funds: State Grant)

To testify in-person or remotely during a live public hearing at the Council Office Building, residents need to preregister on the Council’s web page . Residents may also choose to provide pre-recorded testimony in written, audio or video formats or submit testimony by mail.
