The Montgomery County Council will meet on Tuesday, June 30 at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin with the Council sitting as the Board of Health to receive its semi-annual update on public health issues.

Semi-Annual Update as the Board of Health
Briefing: Sitting as the Board of Health, the Council will receive its semi-annual update on public health issues in the County from Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Kisha Davis. The presentation will include information about summer safety and the PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) advisory from the Maryland Department of the Environment for a portion of the Muddy Branch stream watershed and surrounding ponds. The briefing will also discuss Men’s Health Month, World Sickle Cell Day, Pride Month, Juneteenth and National HIV Testing Day.

Unless otherwise noted, the Council will hold the following hybrid public hearings at 1:30 p.m. Residents can visit the Council website to learn about the multiple ways to provide testimony.
Proposed Closed Session
The Council intends to meet in a proposed closed session to consider a matter that concerns the proposal for a business or industrial organization to locate, expand, or remain in the state under Section 3-305(b)(4) of the General Provisions Article of the Maryland Code; and to consult with counsel to obtain legal advice under Section 3-305(b)(7) of the General Provisions Article of the Maryland Code. The topic is a potential grant from the Economic Development Fund to maintain a business in the County.
