Transportation and Environment Committee will receive a briefing about a Department of Transportation review of the Montgomery County bus network
The Transportation and Environment (TE) Committee will meet on Monday, Sept. 9 at 1:30 p.m. to receive a briefing about the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) final draft of Ride On Reimagined, which is a comprehensive review of the Montgomery County bus network.
The members of the TE Committee include Chair Evan Glass, Councilmember Marilyn Balcombe and Vice President Kate Stewart.

Ride On Reimagined S ervice C oncepts and R ecommendations
Briefing: The TE Committee will receive a briefing about MCDOT’s final draft of Ride On Reimagined , a comprehensive review of the Montgomery County bus network. Ride On Reimagined is a complementary review to Better Bus , which is the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA) comprehensive review of Metrobus service throughout the Washington, D.C. region. Ride On Reimagined will adjust Ride On service based on the changes made by Metro through the Better Bus process.
To develop the review, MCDOT completed an existing conditions and bus network assessment in late 2023. After the bus network assessment was available for review, MCDOT conducted stakeholder engagement and public outreach throughout Oct. 2023. In addition, MCDOT collected feedback through a web form on the Ride On Reimagined interactive map . This public feedback contributed to additional analysis incorporated into the final Service Concepts and Recommendations Report. That report, which is summarized in the Council staff report, will guide the implementation of bus network changes scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025.
