Posted on May 22, 2026

Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will open registration at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 1, for a limited-availability whiskey sales event scheduled for Wednesday, June 10. Registrants will have the opportunity to purchase one highly sought-after bottle of whiskey. Participants must be 21 or older. There are no residency requirements. ABS expects to offer more than 150 bottles for purchase.

Registration will remain open until all slots are filled. Online registration will be available on the ABS website. Participants are encouraged to register early, as the event is expected to fill up quickly.

After registering, participants will receive an email confirmation with an entry number. Entry numbers will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

A list of the available bottles and quantities, along with winning entry numbers and corresponding entry times, will be posted on the ABS website at noon on Wednesday, June 3.

Event rules and additional details are available on the ABS website.

“ABS is proud to offer this opportunity to all customers, regardless of residency,” said ABS Retail Chief John Donovan. “This special event gives participants a chance to purchase rare products at equitable prices.”

The department generates tens of millions in annual net income. Those funds help pay down County debt, with a significant portion deposited into the County’s General Fund to support programs and services that otherwise would rely on tax dollars.
