Gaithersburg, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division homicide detectives are looking for a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Nicholas Njuki.
Detectives have identified Shayan Solimani Damabi as the suspect in the September 13, 2026, shooting.
Solimani Damabi is approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs approximately 205 pounds. Detectives believe he may be driving a red 2018 four-door Acura TLX with Maryland license plate 3GD6732.

On Sunday, September 13, at approximately 2:02 a.m., Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Department of Police 1st District officers responded to the parking lot of Quincy’s, located in the 1000 block of Seven Locks Road, for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Officers located Njuki in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Njuki and Solimani Damabi had been involved in a confrontation inside the restaurant. Njuki and another person then left the restaurant together in a vehicle and drove away.
Near the intersection of Fortune Terrace and Northside Park Boulevard, Njuki and his companion encountered Solimani Damabi, who was in a separate vehicle. Njuki got out of the vehicle he was riding in and approached Solimani Damabi’s car, where Solimani Damabi allegedly shot him.
Solimani Damabi then allegedly fired at Njuki’s companion, who drove away from the area. Solimani Damabi also drove away from the scene.
On Tuesday, September 15, Major Crimes Division detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Solimani Damabi with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Solimani Damabi’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
