Major Crimes Detectives Investigate Lost Knife Circle Fatal Shooting – MocoFeed

Gaithersburg, MD – A 22-year-old man has died, and an 18-year-old male is in critical condition following a shooting on Friday, November 10, 2023.

At approximately 12:26 p.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle for the sound of shots fired.

While on scene, officers received a call for a shooting in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Cir. Upon arrival, officers located the 18-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

At approximately 12:49 p.m., officers received a call for a man unconscious, near the initial call, in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Cir. Upon arrival, officers located Alan Garnica of Gaithersburg, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, Garnica was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no suspect in custody and this is an active and ongoing investigation.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are asking for anyone with a home security system, to review video footage, and contact Major Crimes detectives at (240) 773-5070 with any evidence regarding this shooting.

Anyone with information regarding suspect(s) or this crime is asked to visit the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, MD website at www.crimesolversmcmd.org and click on the “ www.p3tips.com ” link at the top of the page or call 1-866-411-8477. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Tips may remain anonymous.
