Major Crimes Detectives Investigate 13th Street Fatal Shooting

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, September 3, 2024

Gaithersburg, MD – A 34-year-old man has died following a shooting in Silver Spring, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

At approximately 9:42 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 8000 block of 13th St., Silver Spring, for the report of one-down.

Upon arrival, officers located Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer, of Washington, D.C., in an alley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, there are no suspect(s) in custody.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are actively investigating this homicide.
