Juvenile Male Arrested and Charged with Georgia Avenue Armed Carjacking

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged a juvenile male, of Washington, D.C., with an armed carjacking that occurred on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the 13000 block of Matey Road .
At approximately 8:17 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a carjacking.
The investigation by detectives has revealed that when the adult male victim left his home to take out his trash, the juvenile suspect approached him from behind, violently threatened to harm him with a knife and demanded the key to the victim’s Honda Accord. The victim handed over the car key to the suspect who then drove away in the Honda.
Montgomery County Police officers located the stolen Honda in the area of Georgia Avenue and Seminary Road, where they conducted a traffic stop and placed the teenage suspect into custody.
The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged with armed carjacking related charges.
