Germantown Man Arrested in Connection with Frederick Road Fatality

For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 11, 2024

Gaithersburg, MD – A Germantown man has been arrested and charged in connection to an October 15, 2022, two-car fatal collision that occurred on Frederick Road at Plummer Drive.

The initial investigation has revealed that 45-year-old, Jose Antonio Garcia, who was driving a blue 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was turning left from northbound Frederick Road onto westbound Plummer Drive when he struck a Silver 2006 Ford F250 that was traveling southbound on Frederick Road.


The passenger of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old, Jose Vidal Urias Beltran of Germantown.

On Saturday, December 23, 2023, Garcia was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant charging him with manslaughter, negligent homicide and other traffic related offenses.

Garcia is currently being held without bond.
