Gaithersburg Man Charged With Attempted Bank Robbery – Mocofeed

Gaithersburg, MD – A 44-year-old Gaithersburg man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in the 12100 block of Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg.

 

At approximately 9:57 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police 1st District officers responded to M&T bank for the report of an attempted robbery.

 

The investigation revealed that the suspect, later identified as Guarzmjon Aioubov entered the bank, approached an employee behind the counter and passed a note demanding money and stating that he had a gun. When the employee delayed providing the money, Aioubov left the bank without receiving any money.

 

Detectives identified Aioubov as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested later that same day and charged with attempted bank robbery. 

 

Aioubov was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where is currently being held without bond.
