Gaithersburg, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide Unit detectives have arrested 39-year-old Sean Robinson and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 37-year-old Ashlei Jones.
Jones was found inside her Gaithersburg apartment on Sunday, June 21.
MCPD 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road for the report of a working code.
When officers arrived, they located Jones inside an apartment suffering from trauma to her upper body. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until Fire and Rescue personnel arrived. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. On Monday, June 22, the medical examiner determined she died from multiple sharp force injuries and ruled her death a homicide.
The investigation determined that Robinson and Jones lived together in the apartment on Snouffer School Road. Major Crimes detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered items of evidentiary value.
On Tuesday, June 23, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Robinson with first-degree murder.
Robinson was arrested on Thursday, June 25, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
