Detectives Investigate Wheaton Burglary; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Friday, January 26, 2024, at approximately 10:52 a.m., in the 2000 block of University Blvd in Wheaton. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The investigation by detectives has revealed that the suspect walked to a home at the location and knocked on the front door. The suspect entered the garage of the home and approached the victim’s car that was parked inside the garage. The suspect then broke the victim’s car window, stole property and left the scene.
Detectives reviewed the surveillance camera in front of the residence and obtained video footage of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, with a thin build, average height, brown eyes and approximately between 18 and 20-years-old. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark gray beanie, a blue trench coat , a white rosary necklace and black/white shoes.
