Detectives Investigate Georgia Avenue Fatality; Victim’s identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in the area of Georgia Avenue, between Triadelphia Lake Road and the Howard County/Montgomery County Line.
At approximately 5:11 p.m., on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue responded to the location for the report of a two-vehicle collision involving a blue 2023 Chevrolet Malibu and a black 2012 Toyota Tacoma Pickup truck.
The driver of the Chevrolet, an adult female, was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma where she was pronounced dead. The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Angela Marie Brill of Martinsburg, WV.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of the Toyota was traveling southbound on Georgia Avenue when, for reasons that are still under investigation, crossed the centerline and struck the Chevrolet that was traveling northbound.
This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.
