Detectives Investigate Georgia Avenue Armed Robbery; Surveillance Photos of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Holiday Inn near the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

Detectives have released surveillance photos of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

The investigation has revealed that the two suspects entered the Holiday Inn and confronted the desk clerk. Suspect one demanded money from the registers and assaulted the clerk before stealing cash. Suspect two acted as a lookout, and both left the area, heading towards Washington D.C. in a black four-door Chevrolet sedan with unknown tags.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and obtained a description of the suspects.

Suspect one is described as a Black male in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a heavy build and wearing blue insulated coveralls with black boots, blue micro-foam nitrile coated glove, black knit hat, and a black surgical style mask. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Suspect two is described as a Black male, in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with gray New Balance shoes, and black gloves with a large watch on his left wrist. He was wearing goggle style glasses with a black facemask.
