Detectives Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run in Wheaton- Seeking Help Identifying Suspect Vehicle

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, September 24, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are seeking the publics’ help as they investigate a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision that occurred on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at approximately 7:27 p.m., in the area of eastbound Veirs Mill Road at Ennalls Avenue in Wheaton.

Montgomery County police officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The vehicle left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Responders located a 52-year-old female pedestrian in the roadway with critical injuries. She was transported to an area hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

The investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Detectives have determined the suspect vehicle to be a silver 2009–2012 Audi A4 or S4. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the windshield and the right front fog light assembly. Additional evidence points to damage to the left front headlight assembly, with the headlight possibly hanging, and the passenger side fog light assembly missing.

CRU detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information about this collision or the involved Audi is urged to call CRU at (240) 773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous by calling 1-866-411-TIPS.
