Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, in Rockville. The decedent has been identified as 44-year-old Raoudha Khelifi, of Rockville.
At approximately 8:25 p.m., Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the area of Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a vehicle was traveling in the area when it struck two pedestrians, an adult female and her 4-year-old son.
Khelifi was transported to an area hospital, where she later died. Her son was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was not injured. He remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The passenger, an adult female, was not injured.
