Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Patrol are investigating a theft and assault that occurred on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the 7000 block of Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda. The department has released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her.
The preliminary investigation by officers has revealed that at approximately 1:24 p.m., on Tuesday March 5, 2024, the unknown suspect entered Macy’s at the Westfield Montgomery Mall, with a known accomplice, and stole property. When loss prevention personnel approached the suspects, the suspects assaulted the employee and then fled the scene.
