Detectives Investigate Assault Involving Handgun on Finley Street; Surveillance Video Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating an assault that occurred on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the 2600 block of Finley Street. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
At approximately 3:57 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an assault involving a handgun.
The investigation has revealed that the suspect was driving a silver sedan at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood. As the suspect passed a tractor-trailer, the driver of the truck yelled at him to slow down. The suspect then got out of his vehicle and displayed a handgun in the direction of the truck driver.
The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, approximately 20 to 30-years-old, with black hair, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, and last seen wearing a baseball hat.

Tips may remain anonymous. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
