Detectives Investigate 7-Eleven Armed Robberies; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating two commercial armed robberies of the 7-Eleven store in the12800 block of Clopper Rd. in Germantown. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The investigation by detectives has revealed that on Saturday, July 23, 2022, the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the employees and demanded money. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the registers and left the scene.
On Friday, June 2, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., the suspect walked into the same 7-Eleven store and announced the robbery as he went behind the counter. The suspect then displayed a handgun and pushed an employee to the ground. The suspect stole money from the registers and left the scene.
Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the store and believe the same suspect committed both armed robberies.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a slight build, armed with a handgun, approximately 25-years-old and wearing a maroon mask, blue jeans and blue latex gloves.
