For Immediate Release: Sunday, January 5, 2025
A “Snow Emergency” is being declared for Montgomery County to take effect at midnight tonight. As a result, in accordance with the County Code, County residents are advised of the following requirements:
- Parking is prohibited along County roads marked as a “Snow Emergency Route” and in County parking lots designated as “Snow Emergency Lots.”
- All vehicles should be parked off-street in a driveway or garage. Cars that must park on the street should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street on Monday, Jan. 6, and moved to the even-numbered side on Tuesday, Jan.7, if the snow emergency remains in effect. Cul-de-sacs need to be as clear as possible to allow for snowplows to turn around. Cars should not park at the center of the cul-de-sac.
- Fees for County parking garages will be waived during a declared snow emergency. Residents may park in County garages and are encouraged to use them for off-street parking.
