Through the course of the investigation, detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Drug Enforcement Section determined that the 22-year-old suspect had communicated with the victim Christmas morning and arranged to meet, where Alvarez Paz allegedly sold drugs to the victim.

On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, lab results from the drug found in the victim’s possession, returned a positive result of fentanyl.
