Speakers will share how key safety improvement measures, including recent legislation, increased police presence, and the new Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program, have resulted in reductions in crime in the downtown area.

On Tuesday, April 2, the Council is expected to vote on Bill 3-24, the latest measure to address public safety in Silver Spring, which would set restrictions on the operating hours for certain late-night establishments and establish penalties for a violation.

County leaders share a commitment to addressing public safety needs and ensuring Silver Spring continues to be a place where young people, children, families and older adults feel safe and where businesses can thrive.
