Posted on July 1, 2024

For Immediate Release: Monday, July 1, 2024

Accessible first-floor public entrance remains open adjacent to the public parking garage

ROCKVILLE, Md., July 1, 2024 — The current public entrance to the Council Office Building located on Maryland Avenue will be temporarily shifted to the building’s main entrance starting July 17, 2024. The temporary public entrance relocation is necessary to keep residents and employees safe during the public use space renovations on the building’s second floor. Once construction is complete in the spring of 2025, the public use space will include meeting areas for community members and visitors and a grab and go food vendor.

During the renovation period, residents and employees will be temporarily redirected from the Council Office Building’s public entrance under the brown canopy near the former cafeteria to the nearby main entrance under the Council Office Building signage on Maryland Avenue.

The Council Office Building’s accessible first-floor public entrance will remain open. This entrance is adjacent to the public parking garage. The entrance to the public parking garage is located off East Jefferson Street in Rockville.
