Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2025, on northbound Georgia Avenue at Aspen Hill Road in Silver Spring.
The decedent has been identified as 55-year-old Richard Patrick A. Parks of Silver Spring.
At approximately 9:59 p.m., a silver 2024 Acura Integra was traveling northbound through the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Aspen Hill Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the driver struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
Upon arrival, 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel located Parks in the roadway suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The adult male driver of silver Acura remained on scene with no reported injuries.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call 240-773-6620.
