Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in the 300 block of Travis Avenue. The decedent has been identified as 25-year-old William Giovanis Vasquez of Clinton, MD.
At approximately 12:04 a.m., a black 2023 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Travis Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, it struck the median, entered the westbound lanes and struck a large tree before coming to a rest in the eastbound lanes of Travis Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers from Montgomery County and Gaithersburg Police, along with Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel located and pronounced Giovanis Vasquez, dead at the scene.
An adult female passenger was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
