Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision; Victim Identified

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on the evening of Thursday, September 26, 2024.
At approximately 7:21 p.m., Montgomery County Police Department 3rd District Officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of E. Franklin Avenue and Seminole Street for reports of a collision involving a silver 2015 Honda CR-V and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, first responders located the pedestrian, identified as 57-year-old Victor Perez, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. Perez was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
