Clarksburg Man Arrested for Stealing Vehicle in Missouri

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 25-year-old Jerald McCalla, of Clarksburg, with auto theft related charges.
In July 2023, detectives from the Auto Crime Enforcement Section began an investigation into a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT that was stolen in May 2023 through fraudulent means from a car dealership in Farmington, Missouri.
During the investigation, detectives identified McCalla as the suspect.
On Thursday, July 20, 2023, a search warrant was executed at McCalla’s residence in Clarksburg, where the stolen Jeep was recovered from the garage along with several items of evidentiary value. Multiple unregistered and unsecured loaded firearms were also located and seized from the residence. Further investigation determined that children, one as young as seven, reside at the residence where the unsecured firearms were located.
Detectives located McCalla in the residence and placed him under arrest on the strength of a warrant from Farmington Police Department as well as new charges from Montgomery County related to the recovered stolen vehicle and the seized firearms.
McCalla was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition, unlawful firearm access to minors, vehicle theft, and reckless endangerment. He is being held without bond. Once his charges are adjudicated in Montgomery County, McCalla will be extradited to Missouri for the charges placed on him through the Farmington Police Department.
