Annual Montgomery County Farm Tour and Harvest Sale Returns on Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26 – Mocofeed

Posted on July 6, 2026

More Than Two Dozen Locations Open to Buy Fresh Produce, See Farm Animals, and Explore the County’s Craft Beverage Industry

The 2026 Montgomery County Farm Tour and Harvest Sale will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26, and will feature 26 agricultural locations throughout the County’s Agricultural Reserve, open to visitors. Three farms will join the tour for the first time, including Brookeville Beer Farm, East Oaks Farm, and Song Dog Farm Distillery.

Song Dog Farm Distillery is the County’s newest craft beverage distillery. Tourgoers can look forward to tasting craft beverages at eight participating farms. Flower enthusiasts looking for floral displays can find botanical beauty to bring home at five farms on the tour, while foodies can enjoy browsing through local produce, farm-raised meats, and specialty items at seven farm markets.

“The Farm Tour and Harvest Sale is a great opportunity for residents to connect directly with our farming community and see the important role agriculture continues to play in Montgomery County,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “Our Agricultural Reserve is one of the County’s greatest resources, and this event gives families a chance to learn where their food comes from, support local farmers, and experience the beauty of rural Montgomery County.”

The annual Farm Tour is an opportunity for the County to showcase one of its crown jewels, its 93,000-acre Agricultural Reserve. The Ag Reserve has more than 77% of its area protected through agricultural easements and has served as a national model of farmland preservation. There are more than 580 farms and 350 horticultural businesses located throughout the Ag Reserve. These agricultural businesses are vital as they pump more than $280 million into the County’s economy.

The Farm Tour offers something for everyone, from shopping local and enjoying fresh food to seeing farm animals and learning about farming as a way of life. The Farm Tour will offer a rare chance to visit many farms that are only open to the public during this special weekend event.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the stunning views of the Agricultural Reserve as they tour the grounds and facilities of the farms, orchards, breweries, and wineries open during the event. Most of the Farm Tour locations are free to enter and explore. However, a select few charge a nominal fee for entry or activities. Food/drinks, farm products, pick-your-own, and other local items are available for purchase at each farm.

The Visit Montgomery Adventure Planner “Farm Tour Digital Passport” is available for visitors to plan their weekend via this online tool, which will allow people to filter their interests to find locations that match their tastes.

The Farm Tour offers a fun-filled weekend of family-friendly activities. It is a unique educational opportunity for children to connect with nature and learn about where their food comes from before it reaches their table. Participating farms will offer a variety of activities, including goat-milking, butter churning, hayrides, pony rides, and tractor rides. Some locations will have arts and crafts. Tours are self-guided, in that families can choose to visit one, two, or all 26 farms as their time and schedule allow. Tourgoers can take part in the Buy Local Challenge to pick fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers or simply appreciate the peacefulness of the Ag Reserve.

During the Farm Tour weekend, 19 participating farms will be open on both Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26; however, seven farms will be open on Saturday only. Hours vary by farm. Because this is a self-driving tour, you can visit one, several, or all 26 farms according to your schedule and interests.
