Adult Male Arrested in Connection with Rockville Double Homicide

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 25-year-old Kaloyan Dimov Stoev, of an unknown address, with a double homicide that occurred on the morning of Friday, January 17, 2025.
At approximately 3:16 a.m., a 1st District officer was on routine patrol when he observed a white BMW stopped at the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard.
Upon further investigation, the officer located a dead adult male inside the BMW and bullet holes on the exterior of the vehicle. The decedent was identified as 26-year-old Marcell Jordan Hebron of Rockville.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., officers from the Rockville City Police Department responded to the parking lot of 2 Research Court for the report of a dead person.
Upon arrival, officers located a dead adult female with apparent gunshot wounds and shell casings in the parking lot. The decedent was identified as 27-year-old Leilani Marroquin of Rockville.
The decedents were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that these two homicides were connected and identified Kaloyan Dimov Stoev as the suspect who shot and killed Hebron and Marroquin.
On Friday, January 17, at approximately 12:00 p.m., detectives arrested Stoev in Rockville and located in his possession of two firearms.
Stoev was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and additional handgun related charges. He is being held without bond.
