Gaithersburg, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide Unit are investigating a homicide that occurred in the parking lot of a North Bethesda hotel.
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 11:37 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a 41-year-old male in the parking lot of the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Quentin Tyrone Davis, with no known address, was a guest at the hotel. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until Fire Rescue personnel arrived. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Davis was walking alone through the parking lot toward the hotel when an unknown suspect confronted him. Shortly after the confrontation, the suspect shot Davis and ran from the area.
At this time, there is no suspect information available. Officers, with assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police, canvassed the area and nearby Metro trains in an effort to locate the suspect.
