The City of Rockville will temporarily shut off water service at Hurley Avenue Nos. 802, 803, 805, 807, 809, 811, and 813 to perform improvements in the neighborhood.
The shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the event of rain, the work will be rescheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents may notice discolored water or air in the lines following the shutdown. Running cold water for a few minutes usually clears discoloration. To remove air from the system, open a faucet on the top floor for a minute, then open other faucets one at a time from highest to lowest. Any water quality issues should resolve within 24 hours. Residents continuing to experience problems are encouraged to contact the city’s Operations Maintenance Division at 240-314-8567.
Questions about the planned water shutdown can be directed to Evan Shaw, senior construction inspector, at 240-314-8548.
This neighborhood advisory was mailed to affected residents on Hurley Avenue.
