In-Person Community Meeting on the Proposed Executive Boulevard – Grand Park Avenue Bike Lanes Project in North Bethesda to be Held on Tuesday, Feb. 10 – Mocofeed

Posted on January 20, 2026

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 20, 2026

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold an in-person community meeting to discuss the proposed Executive Boulevard – Grand Park Avenue Bike Lanes project in North Bethesda. The in-person meeting will be held at Luxmanor Elementary School located at 6201 Tilden Lane in North Bethesda, 20852. The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.

This project proposes constructing separated bike lanes along Executive Boulevard and Grand Park Avenue in North Bethesda. The proposed bike lanes will run along Executive Boulevard from Nicholson Lane to Marinelli Road and then continue along Grand Park Avenue from Marinelli Road to Old Georgetown Road.

The proposed design calls for one-way separated bike lanes on either side of Executive Boulevard and Grand Park Avenue, separated from traffic by a raised concrete median. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained along Executive Boulevard and Grand Park Avenue, and left turn lanes will be provided throughout the corridor.

At the southern end of the corridor, this project connects to the existing separated bike lanes on Executive Boulevard, which continue south and east to connect to the Bethesda Trolley Trail. At the north end, the project connects to existing bike lanes on Old Georgetown Road.

A traffic study was completed in February 2025, and the preliminary design was completed in November 2025. The schedule beyond preliminary design will be determined based on the results from this community meeting, the Planning Board hearing, and funding availability.

At the public meeting, MCDOT will present the project conceptual design and traffic study and obtain public feedback and answer questions. Public input is encouraged and may influence the project’s design. Following the community meeting, a Mandatory Referral hearing at the Montgomery County Planning Board is expected in late Spring 2026. A recording of this meeting will be posted on the project website the following day. All information provided will become a matter of public record.

The public is encouraged to visit the project website and submit comments and questions by email or mail to the Bikeways Coordinator, Matt Johnson, by Saturday, Feb. 28
