The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is proposing the introduction of a new on-demand bus service route, Ride On Flex Route 918. The in-person public forum will be held on Monday, Dec. 8, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Wheaton Middle School, 12201 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring.
Ride On Flex Route 918 will provide peak-period on-demand transit service to the Ednor, Sandy Spring, Norwood, and Cloverland communities, as well as New Hampshire Avenue between Maryland Route 108 and the White Oak Transit Center. Currently Flex bus service operated in limited areas, during limited times, in Rockville and Wheaton/Glenmont areas. Individuals and representatives of organizations who would like to speak at the public forum are asked to submit testimony in writing by mail or email, on or before Thursday, Dec. 4. The testimony should include the participant’s full name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address, and organization, if applicable.
Testimony can be submitted to the MCDOT Division of Transit Services, Ride On Public Forum at [email protected]. Individuals who have signed up to speak in person must provide a printed copy of their testimony for the record by Friday, Dec. 5.
Written testimony will carry the same weight as spoken testimony. Comments may be written, faxed, or e-mailed on the proposed service changes to the Division of Transit Services by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18. Send comments to:

Interpreter services, including sign language, will be provided upon request with notice as far in advance as possible but not less than three (3) business days prior to the date of the forum. Large print format is available upon request. All comments will be considered before any changes are finalized. Public feedback and information provided will become a matter of public record.
