Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will hold his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday, August 9 starting at 12:30 p.m.
This week the County Executive will be discussing record-low unemployment numbers and how his economic development strategy has helped the County achieve this mark. He’ll also be focusing on an upcoming event meant to bring greater awareness and advocacy within our Black/ African American Diaspora communities to disturbing health trends for mothers and babies. This week the County Executive will be joined by:
- Bill Tompkins, President & CEO, Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation
- Anthony Featherstone, Executive Director, WorkSource Montgomery
- Rebecca Smith, Nurse Administrator, Maternal & Child Health, Public Health Services, DHHS
- Angeline Bell, Nurse Manager, Babies Born Healthy Program, PHS, DHHS
The weekly media briefing offers reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and important issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Members of the media who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at by 10:30 a.m. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
If you are not a member of the media and/or cannot gain access to participate, the briefing can be viewed live on the County’s Facebook page. It is also available on County Cable Montgomery at Comcast/RCN Channel 6 and HD Channel 996 or Verizon Channel 30.
