Rockville Man Dies in Montrose Road Collision

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

The victim, 63-year-old Charles Anthony Hawkins of Rockville, was killed in the crash.

At approximately 8:31 a.m., 1st and 2nd District officers, along with Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel, responded to the intersection of Montrose Road and Tildenwood Drive for the report of a collision involving a car and motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a red 2014 Toyota Camry was traveling east on Montrose Road when they attempted to make a left turn onto Tildenwood Drive and, for reasons still under investigation, struck Hawkins, who was riding a gray 1977 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound on Montrose Road.

The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.
