Two Suspects Charged in Connection with Armed Robbery of Potomac CVS Pharmacy

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, September 3, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have charged two men with an armed robbery that occurred at a CVS Pharmacy in the 7900 block of Tuckerman Lane in Potomac.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., two suspects entered the CVS wearing masks, gloves, and both armed with handguns.  The suspects forced three employees and one customer into a restroom and took their cell phones. One suspect then ordered the pharmacist to open two safes and stole numerous prescription medications. The suspects left the store before officers arrived.

During the investigation, detectives identified the suspects as 31-year-old Shakir Dequan Jude of Cary, NC, and 32-year-old Justin Thomas Whitaker of Brooklyn, NY.

On Saturday, June 8, Jude was arrested with assistance from the Howard County Police Department. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, pending trial.
