US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit In-Person Public Meeting and Corridor Advisory Committee Meeting to be Held on Thursday, Aug. 28 – Mocofeed

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is hosting an in-person public meeting on the US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase 2 project on Thursday, Aug. 28, followed by a Corridor Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting

There will be two parts to this meeting. The first hour of the meeting will be a public meeting focused on bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The topics, presentation and interactive feedback activities will be the same as the June meeting. The second hour of the meeting will be the CAC meeting, which will focus on the preliminary design of the Flash BRT facilities on the corridor. Both portions of the meeting are open to the public and people are encouraged to attend.  

US 29 Flash BRT is an upgraded, high-frequency transit service currently operating between Downtown Silver Spring and Briggs Chaney/Burtonsville via Colesville Road/Old Columbia Pike. The Phase 2 project will improve the existing US 29 Flash BRT service by building a dedicated bus lane between Sligo Creek Parkway and Tech Road.

A Spanish interpreter will be on-site at the meeting. MCDOT is committed to ensuring that all community members can participate in public meetings. To request interpreter services in other languages or provide written comments, please email [email protected] by Monday, Aug. 25.

Written comments carry the same weight as oral comments. All information provided at the meeting will become a matter of public record. Public input is encouraged and may influence the final design of the project.

US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit asamblea Pública y Reunión del Comité Asesor de Corredores sobre mejoras al a realizarse el jueves, 28 de agosto 

El Departamento de Transporte del Condado de Montgomery (MCDOT, por sus siglas en inglés) está organizando una de US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) la Fase 2 del proyecto reunión pública seguido de una reunión del Comité Asesor del Corredor (CAC) el jueves 28 de agosto.

Esta reunión consistirá en dos partes. La primera hora de la reunión será, estará enfocado en instalaciones para bicicletas y peatones.  Los temas presentada y las actividades interactivas son los mismos que en la asamblea de junio.

La segunda hora de la reunión será la reunión del CAC, que se centrará en el diseño preliminar de las instalaciones de BRT. Ambas partes de la reunión son abiertas al público y miembros de la comunidad alentamos a todos a asistir.

El US 29 Flash BRT es un servicio de transporte público mejorado y de alta frecuencia actualmente operando entre Downtown Silver Spring y Briggs Chaney/Burtonsville por Colesville Road/Old Columbia Pike. La Fase 2 del proyecto mejorará el servicio de US 29 Flash BRT existente construyendo un carril dedicado para autobuses entre Sligo Creek Parkway y Tech Road.
