Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Five Arrests and Seizure of Stolen Gun and Ghost Gun – MocoFeed

Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Station have arrested two 16-year-olds, a 13-year-old and two adult males, following a stolen vehicle pursuit that resulted in the recovery of three handguns.

On Thursday, June 27, 2025, at approximately 4:21 p.m., officers were traveling in the area of Old Columbia Pike and Tech Road when they located a stolen silver Hyundai Elantra. Officers attempted to stop the Hyundai, but it continued traveling northbound on Columbia Pike. The Hyundai made a right turn onto Fairland Road, struck the median and came to a stop at the intersection of Copland Court and Fairland Road, where all five suspects got out and ran away.

Officers chased after the suspects and apprehended them in nearby neighborhoods.

The two adult male suspects were identified as 18-year-old Nyveek Ross of Silver Spring,and 19-year-old Kamonte Frazier of Columbia.

In a wooded area, officers located a bag belonging to one of the 16-year-old suspects. Inside the bag, officers recovered a loaded handgun.

The other 16-year-old was found in possession of two loaded handguns; One had been reported stolen and the other had its serial number removed.

The 13-year-old was charged with vehicle theft. His case was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services, and he was released to the custody of his guardians.

Ross, Frazier, and the two 16-year-olds were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Ross and Frazier were charged with obstructing and hindering, disorderly conduct and vehicle theft related charges. Ross was released on a $500 unsecured personal bond and Frazier on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.

The two 16-year-olds were charged as adults with obstructing and hindering, disorderly conduct, vehicle theft, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and related charges.
