“This bus is a visible reminder that Montgomery County stands with our LGBTQ+ residents,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “We believe government should help create a community where everyone feels safe, welcomed and valued. The ‘Ride with Pride’ bus sends that message to anyone who sees it or rides it. We still have work to do to achieve full equality, but this is one way we show that we’re not backing down.”
“We are excited to introduce this bus as a representation of our commitment to supporting our diverse community,” said MCDOT director Chris Conklin. “Public transportation has always played a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming society and uplifting groups that have historically been marginalized. The Ride with Pride bus is a way to let them know they are seen and supported.”
