Montgomery County Awards $9,016 MOVE Grant to Assist IT Consulting Firm Powersolv in Moving Its Headquarters from Virginia to Maryland

For Immediate Release: Monday, June 9, 2025

Powersolv grand opening

Montgomery County has awarded IT consulting firm Powersolv a $9,016 MOVE grant to assist in relocating its Reston, Virginia, headquarters to Rockville. Powersolv’s move further strengthens the County’s tech industry and business community. The Montgomery County Business Center played a pivotal role in assisting Powersolv with the MOVE grant, a program designed to help businesses either establish or expand within the County. A County Business Center liaison served as a site selection consultant to highlight the County’s advantages and guide Powersolv in its decision to relocate.

“Our Business Center’s commitment to minority business outreach and procurement played a significant role in helping Powersolv’s decision to move to the County,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “The County fosters an environment where small, minority-owned businesses can thrive. We designed the MOVE grant specifically to spur economic development, giving businesses an incentive to relocate here or expand their existing facilities within the County. Powersolv’s relocation from Reston to Rockville underscores our steadfast commitment to fostering a dynamic business environment, attracting industry-leading companies and driving sustained economic growth.”

Powersolv moved its main office to the C&W Building, 100 Park Ave. in Rockville, in May. The MOVE grant program provides funding ranging from $8 to $15 per square foot of expanded office space, ensuring that businesses have the resources they need to build and grow.

Powersolv’s new Rockville base is not the company’s first connection with the County. Powersolv has partnered with the County for 17 years under a Montgomery County Consulting and Technical Services contract. Its ability to deliver innovative technology services to government agencies and commercial enterprises has reinforced Montgomery County’s position as a hub for leading tech firms.

“For over 30 years, Powersolv has been dedicated to helping organizations achieve digital transformation through tailored IT solutions,” said Rahul Dhawan, president of Powersolv, Inc. “Relocating our headquarters to Montgomery County allows us to be even more responsive to our clients’ needs, build deeper local partnerships, and attract top talent in one of the most vibrant tech corridors in the Mid-Atlantic.”

The new Rockville headquarters will employ more than 40 people, including 18 employees who live in the County, along with 25 other employees who live outside the County. The company anticipates adding 20 new jobs within three years, further boosting the local economy. The County’s Mid-Atlantic tech corridor provides access to top talent, making it an ideal location for firms seeking continued growth and innovation.

The MOVE grant program began in Fiscal Year 2014 and has funded $5,740,538 as of the end of FY24 to 210 businesses. In FY24 alone, 25 businesses received $520,984.

This latest MOVE grant award represents the County’s commitment to supporting businesses, both large and small. Learn more about business funding and incentives available in Montgomery County on the County Business Center’s webpage .
